Book Clubs@Lester Public Library

Want to meet new people?  Discover new books and authors?  Consider joining one of the library's book clubs.  The library hosts two book clubs every month.

The Lester Book Discussion Group meets the first Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. and reads a variety of fiction and non-fiction titles recommended by group members.

The Strictly Fiction group meets the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. and discusses genre fiction (mystery, romance, science fiction, etc.) selected by the staff.

To see what we are reading visit the Readers Resources page or call the reference desk at 793-7114.  If you wish to get a copy of next month's book, stop by the circulation desk to pick one up.

New members are welcome!

The Homefront: Manitowoc County in World War II

Explore this digital collection of photographic images, oral histories, published sources and documents, artifacts, and other resources which help to document the history of Manitowoc County from 1939 to 1947—both the more universally shared home front experiences and activities as they played out in this specific county, and those more unique activities which especially defined the area during the War.   The photo above shows employees at Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company Plant #4 assembling 90-gallon oil tanks for B-29 bombers.

 Catalog Tips

Library cards now "expire" once a year, so that we can do an address check and verify the information on your card is still correct.  If you get a message that you can not place holds or renew items because your card is expired, please call the circulation desk at 793-8888 and they will renew your card over the phone.

Find out how much it would cost you if you purchased all the materials and services you get from the library for free.  If you'd like to share the results (anonymously) with us, click on the "send to library" button.

Need help? A librarian is standing by to assist you now.

Librarians are available to help you 24 hours a day, even when our library is closed.
