The Lester Public Library is proud to offer a new database of test prep study guides to patrons free of charge!  Whether you're studying for your GED, College admissions (ACT or SAT), or want to practice for your firefighter, nursing or police exam, you can do it with this database.  Available at the library or from home or work all you need to do is follow the link below to get started! When creating an account for the first time, please use your library card number as the user id and create whatever password you like.

Newspaper Index
Created by LPL Staff and volunteers, this database contains obituaries, wedding, birth and adoption announcements and articles about Two Rivers.

This is now part of the regular catalog.  To search, use the advanced search and type the person's LAST name in the search box and then select Title search.  To limit results you can also add one of the Subject terms-- marriages, births or obituaries--in the Subject box.

Manitowoc County:  Where History Lives
This website from the Wisconsin Historical Society provides a wealth of information about Manitowoc County History including the location of museums, historical markers, and historic sites. 

Neshotah: the story of Two Rivers, Wisconsin by Evan Gagnon.  Copyright 1969. Long out of print, this book has become the unofficial history of Two Rivers, WI.  The entire book is now freely available in digital format. 

Benke Photo & Postcard Collection 
This is a collection of photographs of Manitowoc and Two Rivers scenes, buildings and people taken by local photographer Hermann C. Behnke.  Most of the photos date from the turn of the century. 

The Home Front:  Manitowoc County in World War II
An on-going digital collection that tells the story of life on the Manitowoc County home front during World War II.

These are full text digitizations of the books History of Manitowoc County by Falge & A History of Manitowoc County by Ralph Plumb.

NetLibrary is a database of electronic books. The books cover a wide range of subjects including computer programming, Cliffs Notes and  some fiction.  NetLibrary listings will now show in our catalog. 

To use NetLibrary from home, you must first set up an account while you are at the library.

Digital Audio Books
This site offers digital audio books in the OverDrive Media Console™ format. To access digital books at WPLC Digital Books, you will need:

  • A valid library card
  • Brief access to the Internet
  • Free software for the device on which you wish to use your digital book (This can be downloaded at the audio book website.)

You will be asked which library system your library belongs to; we are part of the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System.

Project Gutenberg
This is a free site offering full-text versions of over 20,000 non-copyrighted works.  Includes Shakespeare and many other classic works.
